The Opportunity

The New America School – NM seeks a professional, innovative, and detailed individual for our paid Information Technology Technician Intern position. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work full-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. If you are looking for an opportunity to troubleshoot and maintain sophisticated computer equipment, then this position is for you!

IT Technician Intern


  • Install, maintain and support desktop computer hardware and software.
  • Assist staff with IT related issues as needed.
  • Responsible for working on special projects as assigned.
  • Create and maintain information services documentation as required.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments appropriate to computer services.
  • Continuously identify, measure, follow, and improve Information Services area processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Current student pursuing a degree at an accredited institution in Management Information Systems or similar degree program

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Understand and apply school standards
  • Ability to frequently lift 40 pounds
  • Strong PC setup, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
  • Technical background and knowledge of Microsoft Systems and Information Technology Systems.
  • Knowledge of current hardware and software
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to respond satisfactorily to a variety of simply to complex IT support requests
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
